Overview
This unforgettable experience begins in the early hours as the hot air balloon gently ascends, giving you a bird’s-eye view of the Lowveld section of the Blyde River and the breathtaking Drakensberg Escarpment.
As the bush awakens below, you’ll drift peacefully over citrus farms and other farm lands, soaking in the golden morning light and panoramic views of the South African wilderness.
After landing, enjoy a celebratory glass of sparkling wine and light snacks, followed by a full breakfast back at the lodge—a perfect way to end this magical morning.
Please note:
- The flight is highly weather dependent and will only go ahead when the local balloon skipper deems conditions safe for flying.
- Departure from the lodge may be as early as 3:00 AM, and final confirmation will be provided the day before the flight.
- A minimum of 4 participants is required for the activity to proceed.
